Bowls in the Shape of a Need – after Jean Genet
During a residency at the Women’s Studio Workshop in New York Rebecca established a practice of making a bowl each day for six weeks, while reflecting on and writing about needs, emotional and pragmatic, that she felt to be in opposition to one another. At the culmination of the residency the bowls were fired using the paper from the writing exercise as fuel.
